Overall, the additional capability for the very reasonable price worth it. I think its an issue with the expresscard slot, not the adapter.

MultiBeast drivers are the way to go This got dropped off in the mail gmyle usb 3.0 expresscard minutes ago. Supplied CD and a voile of restarts, it worked great! Have not tried throughput speed test but seat of the pants test says this is going to make backups much less painful.
